If you’ve been following the 2024 Presidential Election, you are likely aware of Project 2025. Funded by the Heritage Foundation, Project 2025 outlines a comprehensive agenda for the next conservative president, Donald J. Trump. The plan includes controversial proposals aimed at restricting abortion rights, rolling back protections for LGBTQ+ individuals, limiting immigrant rights, undermining racial equality, curtailing free speech, and reorganizing federal agencies, such as the Department of Education.
While some Republican leaders have tried to distance Trump from Project 2025, it is clear that many of the policies Trump is campaigning on align closely with those outlined in the Heritage Foundation’s agenda, particularly through his Agenda 47, which presents a more streamlined version of the same principles. Despite the concerns surrounding these policies, Trump has been re-elected, leaving many Americans apprehensive about the future.
In light of these developments, I have compiled a checklist of actions to take before he assumes office, in order to safeguard the values and rights we hold dear.
HOPE
We may have lost this battle, but the war is far from over. If we stand by and do nothing, Trump will get exactly what he wants. He’s been clear about his agenda, and too many have excused his rhetoric as “just a joke.” Enough is enough. It’s time to lace up our shoes and fight back.
As Kamala Harris said in her concession speech, "Sometimes the fight takes a while. That doesn't mean we won’t win." We must come together—joining communities, supporting organizations, protesting, signing petitions, donating, educating ourselves, and staying informed. We must ensure that the checks and balances of our democracy remain intact.
As President Biden reminded us on November 7, 2024, "Setbacks are unavoidable, but giving up is unforgivable." I refuse to let Donald Trump turn the United States into a mockery. We must keep fighting for the future we believe in.

A Poem for Hope and Perseverance
The Road Ahead
The future looms, a shadow wide,
A mist we cannot see inside,
Its path unknown, its winds unknown,
A place where seeds of fear are sown.
But in the dark, a spark still gleams,
A quiet light that softly beams,
For though the road is steep and long,
The heart that hopes is still the strong.
We do not know what lies in store,
Or what the world may ask for more,
But still we rise, we still we fight,
We hold our dreams, we stand for light.
For in the fear, there's room to grow,
In every trial, we learn and know
That hope, though small, can pierce the night,
And turn the dark into our might.
So, though the future may seem blind,
We trust in all we've yet to find—
For hope is not a fading star,
But the strength we carry, near and far.
